It's the crackling chemistry between John Abraham and Akshay Kumar which makes Desi Boyz such a fun film. The guy bonding between them had already been showcased in Garam Masala but this film carries the camaraderie even further. True, the film doesn't boast of anything that even comes close to an intelligent quotient, but the perfectly tuned tango, salsa, hip hop between the boyz gives it a spicy edge and keeps you in your seats, goofily munching your popcorns.

What’s Good: Performances; several comic punches; the music.
What’s Bad: Emotional scenes are a bit hurried; some scenes are repetitive in the second half; climax looks a bit incomplete.
Verdict: Desi Boyz is a feel good entertainer.
Loo break: None.
Watch or Not?: Watch Desi Boyz for the music, comedy and performances.

3 Ups and 3 Downs:
Honest performances, music, fast-paced screenplay and cinematography get a thumps up. Weak storyline, poor characterization and clumsy first half are the weak points.
On the whole, Desi Boyz is surely a one-time watch with Sanjay Dutt’s presence a USP of the film.

Debut director Rohit Dhawan opens the film with a recession-hit UK. Apart from shop signs that say 'No hiring, only firing', he shows banks offices literally collapsing (special effects).
The cast does well. Akshay and John work well together and make us root for their bromance.
Deepika is lovely but stuck playing The Girlfriend - a vague character with no ambition, career, or even a hobby - persistently in the 'waiting-for marriage' state.
Chitrangda plays the more interesting, layered role of a professor who has a crush on her student.
The finale that takes place in a court is too sharp a detour. But if you can bear with that, Desi Boyz is a fun ride.

Akshay Kumar and John Abraham are superb in their respective roles. As far as their acting is concerned, there seems to be a tough competition between the two. Their telepathic conversation in the film is very humourous. Their chemistry is awesome. Deepika grabs the eyeball with her acting, while Chitrangada Singh is a treat to watch. Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher and Omi Vaidya also brighten up the screen with their hilarious acts.
Overall, Desi Boyz is a good entertainer, which can be enjoyed by comedy lovers.

There is that special something that really makes the film tick. Is it the Dhawan magic, or Rocco and Hunter's escapades or Radhika and Tanya (Chitrangada's) timely introductions into scenes? Even though you may call it the typical Bollywood flick, there is that 'X' factor which, I feel, will help it make safely through the first week.
John and Akshay, after GARAM MASALA, team up again and both are good. Deepika is moving confidently from film to film and establishing her credentials as an actress to be reckoned with in the Top 5 category. Chitrangada manages to impress in her brief role while Sanju baba, walks in with attitude, and leaves receiving the maximum taalis.
The mix is good and it's sure to create a buzz if not a furor at the Box-office.
