It's the crackling chemistry between John Abraham and Akshay Kumar which makes Desi Boyz such a fun film. The guy bonding between them had already been showcased in Garam Masala but this film carries the camaraderie even further. True, the film doesn't boast of anything that even comes close to an intelligent quotient, but the perfectly tuned tango, salsa, hip hop between the boyz gives it a spicy edge and keeps you in your seats, goofily munching your popcorns.

What’s Good: Performances; several comic punches; the music.
What’s Bad: Emotional scenes are a bit hurried; some scenes are repetitive in the second half; climax looks a bit incomplete.
Verdict: Desi Boyz is a feel good entertainer.
Loo break: None.
Watch or Not?: Watch Desi Boyz for the music, comedy and performances.

3 Ups and 3 Downs:
Honest performances, music, fast-paced screenplay and cinematography get a thumps up. Weak storyline, poor characterization and clumsy first half are the weak points.
On the whole, Desi Boyz is surely a one-time watch with Sanjay Dutt’s presence a USP of the film.

Debut director Rohit Dhawan opens the film with a recession-hit UK. Apart from shop signs that say 'No hiring, only firing', he shows banks offices literally collapsing (special effects).
The cast does well. Akshay and John work well together and make us root for their bromance.
Deepika is lovely but stuck playing The Girlfriend - a vague character with no ambition, career, or even a hobby - persistently in the 'waiting-for marriage' state.
Chitrangda plays the more interesting, layered role of a professor who has a crush on her student.
The finale that takes place in a court is too sharp a detour. But if you can bear with that, Desi Boyz is a fun ride.

Akshay Kumar and John Abraham are superb in their respective roles. As far as their acting is concerned, there seems to be a tough competition between the two. Their telepathic conversation in the film is very humourous. Their chemistry is awesome. Deepika grabs the eyeball with her acting, while Chitrangada Singh is a treat to watch. Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher and Omi Vaidya also brighten up the screen with their hilarious acts.
Overall, Desi Boyz is a good entertainer, which can be enjoyed by comedy lovers.

There is that special something that really makes the film tick. Is it the Dhawan magic, or Rocco and Hunter's escapades or Radhika and Tanya (Chitrangada's) timely introductions into scenes? Even though you may call it the typical Bollywood flick, there is that 'X' factor which, I feel, will help it make safely through the first week.
John and Akshay, after GARAM MASALA, team up again and both are good. Deepika is moving confidently from film to film and establishing her credentials as an actress to be reckoned with in the Top 5 category. Chitrangada manages to impress in her brief role while Sanju baba, walks in with attitude, and leaves receiving the maximum taalis.
The mix is good and it's sure to create a buzz if not a furor at the Box-office.

Shakal Pe Mat Ja Review

AVERAGE RATINGS OF 7 REVIEWS - 1.2/5

Shakal Pe Mat Ja Review By:
Nikhat Kazmi - Times Of India - Ratings 2/5
Brave effort by a group of youngsters to make a film which has been co-produced by Hrishitaa Bhatt (actor) and directed by Shubh, the hero of the film. There is a sincere effort by these newbies to script and create a comedy of errors centred round the issue of terrorism and the paranoia it has created all over. But seriously, can't say how apt it is to fool around with such a sensitive topic and create parodies out of terror czars like Osama. Here, you have Omama ( Zakir Hussain) and his terror network, Al-Baqaeda, hellbent on creating mayhem in India and outdoing the antics of Osama. Of course, Omama and his jihadis are bumbling buffoons. Now how funny is that?
Shakal Pe Mat Ja Review By:
Super Good Movies - Ratings 1.5/5
The basic idea of the story is decent. However, the execution fails big time. There is nothing that the director does to save this film. It is too loud, a khichadi of everything that has a little bit a predictable thrill, been there seen that comedy, a nagging girlfriend, spoof of Baba Ramdev, Al Queda, Osama, and more. There is no novelty in the film but it shows a little hope in parts.
The stupid fart and porn jokes become deterrent in the flow of the story. The main issue is that it takes too long to come to the point and by then the audience has lost interest.
Shakal Pe Mat Ja Review By:
Dailybhaskar.com  - Ratings 2/5
SPMJ rests on a very conventional storyline, which lacks lustre in the terms of a poor screenplay. The effort of making a political satire falls flat, as the filmmaker goes overboard while tackling the subject. In fact, some portions of the story have an uncanny resemblance with SRK starrer Baadshah and Ali Zafar’s Tere Bin Laden. Dialogues prove to be the saving grace of the movie but, become monotonous after a point of time, as the plot thickens. Some good performances, dialogues and experimental editing are the strong points. Loopholes in screenplay, a thin storyline and confusing direction are the weaknesses.
On the whole, Shakal Pe Mat Ja doesn’t leave a mark at all and can be easily given a miss.

Shakal Pe Mat Ja is one of those whacked-out satires that sounds far funnier on paper than on screen.First-time director Shubh shows a flair for comic moments and like I pointed out earlier, a few sequences do make you smile/laugh. But the writing is devoid of fun and far from watertight. On the whole, SHAKAL PE MAT JA is one of those whacked-out satires that sounds far funnier on paper than on screen.

Speaking of script, it has been credited to Shubh Mukherjee, who incidentally is also the director and the lead actor.

Another sore point of the film is the jarring background score. It's painfully loud to a point of challenging your tolerance. Music is decent but would've worked better had it been picturised well. Actors like Amna Shariff and Saurabh Shukla are wasted. Harshal, Chitrak and Dhruv add to the agony.
To sum it up, one shouldn't go by the looks of Shakal Pe Mat Ja and definitely pay heed to this review. The film is easily avoidable.

Rockstar Review

Written By Manish Garg on Friday, 11 November 2011 | 19:55

AVERAGE RATINGS OF 15 REVIEWS - 3.1/5
Star Cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Nargis Fakri

ROCKSTAR Review By:
Nikhat Kazmi - Times Of India - Ratings 4/5
Leave it to Imtiaz Ali to take a love story and present it in a manner that's completely different from run-of-the-mill Bollywood. Romance, under his creative vision, becomes a multi-layered, sensitively nuanced, monumental experience which has more to do with serenading your soulmate rather than a stereotypical marriage partner. With intelligent entertainers like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal and now Rockstar, he is evolving as a new age Yash Chopra. Love literally smoulders under his narrative, albeit in a completely modern idiom.
The highpoint of Rockstar is it's high tension, high-on-passion romance between two unlikely people: the completely low brow JJ who doesn't like his girls nice and clean and Heer (Nargis Fakhri), the uptown Stephenian who is all set to get married and settle down to sweet domesticity like all sweet girls do.
ROCKSTAR Review By:
Aniruddha Guha - DNA India - Ratings 4/5
Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar is a bittersweet journey of a man, an artist, from being an everyman to a superstar. But while Ali uncovers layers off Jordan the iconic musician -- each layer as fascinating as it is intriguing -- he keeps the core of the character, Janardhan Jakhad, alive. But while good acting is always an incentive, it’s a director’s vision that makes a film truly watchable, and Imtiaz deserves credit for trying his hand at something different from what the mainstream churns out every week. And for bringing back the one aspect sorely missing from Hindi films lately music.
ROCKSTAR Review By:
Sukanya Verma - Rediff - Ratings 3.5/5
Rockstar is essentially a love story between two very curious individuals, writes Sukanya Verma.
Indeed, Ranbir Kapoor is not an everyday occurrence. He's proved himself to be more than a portfolio and a surname with his absolutely marvelous ability to connect with the audience in a brand new skin each and every time. And that he's accomplished this in merely four years and 9 films is no mean feat.  Therefore, even though, the above-mentioned prediction, coming in the astute words of Shammi Kapoor, is meant for the unruly, untamed genius of Janardhan Jakhar aka Jordan, it holds true for his grand nephew as well. Our lad is meant for epic things.
ROCKSTAR Review By:
Super Good Movies - Ratings 3.5/5
Go watch it for Ranbir and Imtiaz’s direction. A must watch for all true lovers.
Imtiaz Ali in all his films, be it ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Luv Aaj Kal’ portrayed passionate true love and he goes a step further with this one. His storytelling is par excellence and is commendable. Another thing that’s worth mentioning is the way he makes his actors perform. The first half an hour is absolutely desi and will totally connect to the masses. The rest of the film, however is very international and good production values. Though, it does get a bit repetitive in the second half.
ROCKSTAR Review By:
Taran Adarsh - Bollywood Hungama - Ratings 3/5
Rock based movies are revered and admired in Hollywood, but Bollywood hasn't been too kind to this genre. Imtiaz Ali has always managed to strike the right balance between the hoi polloi and the gentry. Movies like JAB WE MET and LOVE AAJKAL are proof that the enormously talented raconteur won't attempt a film if he's not fully convinced about it. Known for his imaginative and inventive take on love stories, Imtiaz takes up yet another challenge with ROCKSTAR. The story of a rebellious singer/musician, it traces his journey of love, anguish, ego, trouble, sorrow and devastation. A difficult path to tread, no doubt, but Imtiaz could be a game changer, if the film strikes a chord. Alas! ROCKSTAR is a sumptuously shot movie that is disjointed on script level. On the whole, ROCKSTAR does not live up to the confidence and expectations from the otherwise very skilled and accomplished film-maker Imtiaz Ali. The film suffers immensely due to a disorderly screenplay, especially in its post-interval portions. However, the silver lining or the comforting prospect is the virtuoso performance by Ranbir Kapoor and the captivating score by A.R. Rahman, which justify that one extra star.
ROCKSTAR Review By:
Dailybhaskar.com  - Ratings 3/5
With a flawless first half, courtesy- an engaging narration which strikes a good balance between flashback and present, Rockstar starts on a very good note. From showcasing the Delhi college culture to the scenic beauty of Kashmir and some extremely fun-filled dialogues, the film surely rocks in first half, but falls flat on the face as second half begins. Transitions and inter-cuts lasting for almost 25 minutes make it a boring affair as the filmmaker seems to be beating around the bush with a strange stagnation in terms of storyline.Overall, Rockstar is a one-time watch and worth a treat for both the fans and non-fans of Ranbir Kapoor, as he does complete justice to his character.
ROCKSTAR Review By:
Kaveree Bamzai - India Today - Ratings 2/5
There are moments of great beauty in the film. The heart-stopping duet between Shammi Kapoor and Ranbir; the Kun Faaya Kun song in the Nizamuddin dargah; the hilarious massage scene involving a leopard print underwear-clad music baron, Piyush Mishra; or even Ranbir dancing in a trance at a nightclub, transported into another world. But instead of taking the audience along on his journey of pain, the audience is increasingly frustrated. Too many things are left unexplained. How does Janardhan become such a symbol of rage -- does it really just take a single act of breaking in and entering a foreign country to make him the emblem of Free Tibet, angry Kashmiris and angry Khalistanis? Why does Heer not just run away with him?
ROCKSTAR Review By:
Martin D'Souza - Glamsham - Ratings 3/5
If an actor can have you riveted to your seat for the entire length of the movie and you see nothing else but just sheer brilliance in every twist in his character; that's 'paisa vasool, time respected, audience is baap' approach.
Ranbir Kapoor is all that and much more as he metamorphoses from Janardhan Jhakar, a nerdy college student from Delhi, to Jordan, an iconic Rockstar. Everytime he is on screen, everything and everyone blurs into the background. It's Ranbir and only Ranbir you see. This guy is a genius. Period. As the nerdy college student, he brings in that freshness that is originally naive. He becomes the character. As a friend to Heer (debutante Nargis Fakhri), who plays the 'rich chick, hard-to-get diva', he is platonic to the core. As the Rockstar, guitar in hand, he resembles someone who has been born with the stringed instrument. If only Imtiaz had curtailed his obsession and let some scenes go, ROCKSTAR could have achieved cult status like ROCK ON.
The ratings are strictly for Ranbir and A R Rahman's music.

A large crowd queued up outside Verona Arena, Italy, one of the most renowned places of Italy, eager fans awaiting for the concert of Jordan to start, and amidst all this a dishevelled and unkempt looking rockstar breaks through the clout of cops after a fight into the arena showing complete disregard to his fans, storms onto the stage with a rage and croons to his hearts content.Over all, Rockstar may not be one of the finest attempts but is definitely worth a watch for its pleasing first half and the ace performance of Ranbir Kapoor.

One India - Ratings 3/5
Rockstar, directed by Imtiaz Ali stars Nargis Fakhri and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. The film begins well with very interesting fun filled moments. Rockstar is able to immediately connect with the audience as the scene shifts between the past and the present.
However, the second half gets a little monotonous and the narration becomes a little weak. Another drawback in Rockstar is the 'realism' part. Many sequences in the film are hard to believe and one cannot help but opine that Imtiaz could have dealt with it more realistically. The scene between Ranbir and Shammi Kapoor is very nice to watch, apart from many other light moments.
The background score by AR Rahman is extremely good and uplifts your mood. The music and songs are capable of drifting you to another world.

Saibal Chatterjee - NDTV - Ratings 2.5/5
Rockstar is a gig gone wrong. And that is sad. For there is much in the film that is worth commending. Anil Mehta’s cinematography is flawless all the way through, across the varied locations, settings and moods.
AR Rahman’s outstandingly lively and eclectic musical score presents a wide range of sounds blended into a harmonious whole.
Ranbir’s Shammi Kapoor act on a boat on the Dal Lake (he sings Chand Sa Roshan Chehra) is probably worth the price of the ticket, if the recently deceased Bollywood icon’s cameo in the film isn’t.
Moreover, writer-director Imtiaz Ali’s sensibility ensures that Rockstar, for the most part, steers well clear of the cliches that usually hound the average Bollywood love story.

What’s Good: The performances; the music; the look of the film; the photography and locations.
What’s Bad: A couple of questions unanswered in the film; the class appeal of the film; the dark and depressing portions of the second half.
Verdict: Rockstar will meet with a mixed response: one section of the audience (mainly youngsters in the cities) will love it while another section (mainly the single-screen audience and public of smaller cities) will find it ordinary.

Imtiaz Ali's 'Rockstar' is a love story between Janardhan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor) and Heer (Nargis Fakhri). Janardhan is a naïve Haryanvi college going buffoon. He is rustic with no confidence in his own talent, but cherishes the dream of becoming a rockstar. With a hairdo and clothes that resemble the fashion of the early 1970s, Janardhan, or JJ as he calls himself, is constantly trying to ape rockstar Jim Morrison and is constantly seeking a formula to become one. With some beautiful wide angle shots, the film captures scenic Kashmir, Prague and Delhi in a way that has not been seen in the recent past. The editing too is crisp but the last half hour is agonisingly similar to Shahid Kapoor's 'Mausam'. It just goes on and on.
The dialogues are refreshingly rustic and funny. And Ranbir's performance is amazing, he lifts up the movie every which way. For him, 'Rockstar' is worth a watch.

In short, “Rockstar” is the story of the young guy, who sheds off his identity of Janardan to become Jordan. He faces almost all the biggest happiness and sorrows in his life.
Janardan sees everything in his life. Though, he is from a normal College guy background, he reaches the peak of success, by becoming an International Rockstar. How he achieves his dreams and what happens after that, forms the remaining part of the movie and the crux of the Story.

Director Imtiaz Ali won half the battle when he got AR Rahman to compose the music for his film. Ranbir Kapoor helps him conquer the other half.
So you’ve seen the promos and think you know what the film’s about? Actually, there’s a lot more to it. Rockstar is not just a journey of an aspiring musician. It also charts the main lead’s spiritual path and highlights that just making it big in life doesn’t lead to inner happiness. Inspired by the writings of Sufi poet Rumi, the film is layered and delivers the goods without getting boring.

Taran Adarsh - Bollywood Hungama - Ratings 4.5/5
Movies like KRRISH and ROBOT initiated the trend of superhero films in India, with fantasy making deep inroads into mainstream Hindi cinema. Now RA.ONE raises the bar, takes not a step or two, but a giant leap and adheres to international standards, in terms of execution. But the soul, I wish to add, is very desi. That's precisely the reason why RA.ONE emerges trumps. RA.ONE is beauty [read good looking film] with brains. On the whole, RA.ONE is a solid entertainer, no two opinions on that. It's not merely a great looking film, but also has soul, which is so essential to strike a chord with the avid moviegoer. As for the business prospects, RA.ONE is sure to shatter all previous records and set new ones, in India as well as internationally. The film will be the new yardstick for measuring success. It has Blockbuster written all over it!
RA ONE Review By:
Saibal Chatterjee - NDTV - Ratings 3/5
As a vendetta saga, RA.One might be right up your alleyway. It delivers more than your money’s worth in terms of pure entertainment. It is impressively shot, technically good enough to pass muster and the hi-jinks drama has the pace to keep tedium at bay.
What you see is passable, what you hear is enjoyable, but what you take away is insubstantial.
RA.One is like a colourful Popsicle that looks tantalising, tickles the palate while it lasts, but leaves no particular after-taste. Sound and fury? Loads of it. Significance? Not much.
Two and a half stars would have been in order – the extra half is for the sheer scale of the film’s ambition. So what if it falls short?
RA ONE Review By:

It’s definitely a stupendous job as per Bollywood standards and hats ff to Shah Rukh and his film to pull it off. Some visual effects used are par excellence. Coming to the story, Indianness has been added and that was required to make it a mass entertainer. However, the first half is better and fast paced while the second half could have been better. All the kids are definitely going to have a time of their life watching Ra.One.

Ra.One is surely crafted as a kids’ entertainer. Compared to Chitti, the emotional side of G-One takes a hit.  SRK’s fans who are missing him on silver screen after ‘My Name Is Khan’, can grab this opportunity to see their hero in a never-seen-before avatar. The movie is a joyful cinematic experience for game enthusiasts.
RA ONE Review By:
Nikhat Kazmi - Times Of India - Ratings 3.5/5
Rajnikant's Robot may have pre-dated it, but Ra-One does manage to hold despite the larger-than-life quality of Rajni's antics as Chitti. Here, Shah Rukh Khan does the train walk sideways and he does it rather well. And if that is not enough, the two desi sci fi heroes have a split second encounter on the streets of Mumbai, with Rajni saar showing off his flying googles act and SRK replicating it with elan. Twin Rascals!
Ra-One works on several accounts. First because it has some interesting clashes betwen G-One, the good robot(Shah Rukh Khan) and Ra-One, the bad robot, who can take the form of anyone he wants. Secondly, the bond that G-One develops with the family he is supposed to protect, Kareena and her young son Prateik, is warm and winsome.

Kaveree Bamzai - India Today - Ratings 3.5/5
Pataka? Item? Tota? An actor throws around a few casual words that mean a beautiful girl, until he hits upon one that encompasses all of the above: chammak challo. Shah Rukh Khan's superhero-blue eyes light up, Kareena Kapoor's red sari glows, and they start to dance to Akon's song along with Russian dancers in Bharatnatyam-inspired mini-skirts. Yes, it's that sort of a movie, where everything happens all at once.
Shah Rukh throws himself about, vaulting up and own buildings, leaping through the air and even landing on his feet with Kareena Kapoor in his arms. In the face of such indefatigable energy, we surrender. Go on, Shah Rukh, give it a rest. In the words of your superhero, you did good.

Virtual reality bites, and it tickles too. Woohoo, computer-generated G: One (Jeevan, get it?) is so goody-good that he would happily chomp a chewing gum made of wood.
And his fi-fie-fo-fum adversary is the eponymous Ra:One (Raavan), a Frankenstein’s monster of sorts who’s as aluminium-plated as pans-`n’-pots. Daft and dotty?bsolutely, and that’s its strength. The Anubhav Sinha-directed Ra-One revels in being a zippy, zany, zowie ride. And the upbeat news is that the special effects fandango actually works, the closest yet to international standards: in particular a spectacular turvy-topsy car chase through London’s streets, thrilling acrobatic stunts on a Mumbai local train, the collapse of Mumbai’s CST terminal, and a gothic climax that’s dot-on with its micro-chips syntax. So if you’re in a feel-thrill mood, go right ahead and chillax.

Lekha Menon - Masala.com - Ratings 2.5/5
Nothing about 'RA.One' is ordinary or regular – be it the hype, the frenzy, the figures or the marketing campaign. For a film that has been mounted on such a mammoth scale, your level of expectations naturally are gargantuan. So it’s with the whole promotion overdrive playing in your head constantly that you set to watch the superhero film that promised us the moon and more. Finally, there’s Shah Rukh. Does he make for a great superhero? Yes and No. While he lacks the physicality of a Hrithik, he makes up for it with charisma. However, the typical Shah Rukhisms do creep in – flaring nostrils, hamming and stuttering. Maybe he can do a better job in the sequel.
In the end, though 'RA.One' might not please hardcore action and superhero buffs, there is much to take from the film. Watch it this festive season and you won’t be disappointed. But keep those Hollywood DVDs tucked away safely!

Abhishek Mande - Rediff - Ratings 2/5
Ra.One seems to have been put together rather half-heartedly -- a song forced in here, a handful of laughable special appearances there (including an unforgivable one of Superstar Rajinikanth) and a little slapstick comedy and rona-dhona thrown in too.
In the weeks before its release, Ra.One has been called many things. Among them, it has been labelled as Shah Rukh's most expensive midlife crisis. After watching the movie, it seems to me that perhaps, just perhaps there might be some truth to it after all.
I am going with 2 out of 5 star ratings for Ra.One, a film that could have been great fun but didn't live up.

Neither does Chadrakant fully establish the flamboyant nature of the actors, the reasons for them to cheat on their wives, the possessive nature of their wives or even their backgrounds. Moreover, right from the first scene itself viewers are reduced to fault findings as there are so many flaws in your faces. For example, the first introductory scene of Rajneesh Duggal itself has his dialogues completely out of sync. Then there are scenes where you can hear the echo in the dialogues capturing the ambience while the scene may have been shot. There definitely may not have any post production lab work done in this.
The colour of the wig keeps changing within scenes, the length of the hair keeps going uneven from long to short or vice versa. Easily discoverable continuity flaws.
A one line remark can sum up the entire film. Be Careful of Be Careful.

No one in this movie is a big star, but everyone is a proficient actor. The show stopper is Saqib Saleem, who, in my opinion, is the find of the year [so far]. Brimming with energy and a complete delight in front of the camera, Saqib is instrumental in making this journey enjoyable. Nishant Dahiya has the looks and the persona and also does what's required from him. But this is not a role that will make people sit and notice his talent. His good looks will win him fans, for sure. Saba Azad is truly wonderful. A complete natural, she takes to the character like a fish takes to water. Tara D'Souza looks stunning and handles her part well. Prabal is first-rate.
On the whole, MUJHSE FRAAANDSHIP KAROGE is engaging, funny, brimming with style and wit. It's for the youth and the young at heart. Go for it!

There are some films that create a huge divide between critical acclaim and mass appeal. Now tha tis a long and boring topic. Then there are also some films which create between young and old. But what do you say to a production house that caters to both, the young and new? Yes, Yash Raj Films is what we are talking about. The name though may resonate of Switzerland, Chiffon Saris, mushy romance but there is also this edge on the prestigious banner that is catering to new, fresh minds through Y-Films.

My Friend Pinto Review By:
Taran Adarsh - Bollywood Hungama - Ratings 1/5
MY FRIEND PINTO suffers on various counts. First of all, it is hard to believe that someone can be so naïve in today's times. Even if one were to believe that Pinto is indeed the 'innocent' one, the film is packed with ridiculous situations and characters that make you squirm in your seat. If the intention was to make you laugh, sorry, this film doesn't! Even the music, which has been a hallmark of Bhansali's movies, is plain mediocre this time.
Prateik fails to deliver. He tries so hard to look the congenial but not worldly wise Pinto, but doesn't succeed. Kalki is an effortless actor, but she looks disinterested here. Arjun Mathur does well. Divya Dutta is passable. Makrand Deshpande is wasted. Amin and Karim are strictly okay. Raj Zutshi is effective. Shruti Seth is alright.
On the whole, MY FRIEND PINTO is a terrible waste of a terrific opportunity!
My Friend Pinto Review By:
Raja Sen - Rediff - Ratings 1/5
My Friend Pinto is a great opportunity for Prateik to showcase his skills both as an actor and a dancer. The young awkward boy from Jaane Tu [ Images ] Ya Jaane Na has metamorphosed into a fine and confident actor. An endearing smile which can win many over many pretty young things. Yet he doesn't look like a shy young lad who has never visited a big city. A miscast for this role.
Paying homage to the all-time cult film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron there is also a dead body being lugged around and which needs to be disposed off at the earliest. Doesn't form an integral part of the story, it appears as an add-on to a shoddy script.
As the grand finale Ragaav Dar summarily commentates on the lessons embedded in the script. Doesn't say much for his story-telling abilities.
See this only if you are a Prateik Babbar fan. Else avoid.

Bollywood Life
Cute, feel-good, funny…all these adjectives could be used to describe Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest production with UTV, titled My Friend Pinto. Touted as a comedy, the film is not what the mass audience calls one, though.

Swati Bhattacharyya - Daily Bhaskar - Ratings 2/5
Alas, ‘My Friend Pinto’ is not what we had hoped for, though the light hearted comedy can be a one-time watch as Prateik is cute in his role of a gullible guy.

David Dhawan gets wild, wacky... and naughty! He's back to the 'spicy' films he churned out with amazing regularity [and with great success] in the 1990s. RASCALS sees the original badshaah of non-stop laughathons revisit the genre, after a hiatus. Let me describe RASCALS in few words: funny, outrageous, hilarious, uproarious and most importantly, entertaining. In fact, the title as well as the promos of the film had prepared us well in advance about what to expect from this film.At the same time, RASCALS is definitely *not* for those who tilt towards realistic/pragmatic cinema or for enthusiasts of meaningful/significant cinema or those who disregard masala films. No, nope, naah... this one's austerely not for them!On the whole, RASCALS is a madcap, over the top, zany entertainer aimed at the masses. It's hilarious and outrageous from commencement to conclusion. If this kind of humor appeals to you, then there are chances that you will relish this one!

Bollywood World - Ratings 2/5
At some point in this pointless parody of all of David Dhawan’s Tom and Jerry comedies from the past, Devgn and Dutt, playing a pair of warring, snaping, snarling, sneering con-persons, call for each other. ‘Chetan? Bhagat? Chetan? Bhagat? ….” In that pause between the last blast and the next you know the script writer (Yunuz Sajawal) is thinking of how to carry the plot to the next gag.
Wish they had actually roped in author Chetan Bhagat to write some of the episodes. We would at least be looking at more than just an endless raunchy wordy ramble into the realm of toned bikini bodies. And these include the two leading ladies Kangna Ranaut and the striking Lisa Haydon.A makeover for David Dhawan’s brand of comedy. Seriously, this comedy is not funny.

What’s Good: A few comic scenes; the ‘Shake it saiyyan’ song.
What’s Bad: Lack of a cohesive story; hotch-potch screenplay; irritating dialogues.
Verdict: Rascals is a poor comedy which will fail to make its mark.
Loo break: Not really.
Watch or Not?: Watch Rascals if you can laugh at just about anything.

This one defies a film. You just lose interest after a while. As do the filmmakers. At some point, out of the blue, they just abandon the whole project, start replaying scenes from the picture, everybody begins dancing together, friends and foes, Anthony Gonsalves, Bhagguji, Chetooji. You wonder what’s going on again. Credits start rolling. Nonsense ends. Poof. Thank you.
Rascals Review By:
Super Good Movies - Ratings 1/5
The movie is plain irritating and has nothing much than Sanjay and Ajay trying to kiss and touch Kangna. The dialogues are clichéd and do not manage to create even a single giggle. It’s a senseless comedy and is totally a waste of time, money and effort. ‘Rascals’ does not impress a bit.

The gags in Rascals are so stale and tasteless and the situational comedy so devoid of any kind of originality or freshness, you wonder if David Dhawan just made this unfunny comedy to please his friends who play the major roles in the film.
A makeover for David Dhawan's brand of comedy. Seriously, this comedy is not funny.

Daily Bhaskar - Ratings 3/5
Unlike any other slapstick comedy, Rascals stands out because of its sense of humour, which is direct with no double meaning dialogues. The characters show no reluctance and are at comfort sharing cheesy talks. The attempt of the two rascals over powering each other time and again in the film gets boring after a point of time. The comic-timing between Sanjay and Ajay is refreshing and brilliant and tickles the funny bone most of the times.
Rascals Review By:
Martin D'Souza - Glamsham - Ratings 3/5
Pay your ticket fare, buy your popcorn and take your seat. RASCALS does not promise to involve you in the scheme of things. However, it does promise entertainment. f you go looking for logic you won't find any. But you will find loopholes aplenty. If you just want to have a good time, RASCALS gives you that. And a few good laughs as well. The music by Vishal and Shekhar is peppy, while the dialogues are full on wit, and less on logic. What hits you hard on the positive side is the fact that even when there is no plan or plot, Dutt and Devgn don't feel the heat. They go about their business of making you laugh with glee.
RASCALS is what the film promises... buy your ticket, take your popcorn, and get set for a situational comedy.

Nikhat Kazmi - Times Of India - Ratings 2.5/5
David Dhawan returns to the screen after a prolonged hiatus. And sadly, he returns with a film that ain't too fresh and reminds you of his earlier venture, Deewana Mastana, with Govinda and Anil Kapoor trying to outwit each other in order to curry favour with Juhi Chawla. What's more unnerving is the fact that Rascals isn't as funny as the earlier one, where Govinda created a laugh riot with his 'baby steps' and psychiatrist Juhi was worth all the squabbling and sneaking.

Raja Sen - Rediff - Ratings 1.5/5
Last but not the least; let me draw your attention to the most offensive aspect of Rascals. Its women. Both Kangna and Lisa Haydon are reduced to pea-brained ob-jects of lust with absolutely no self-respect for themselves or their tribe. And so when Dutt equates Kangna's shrill cries to a dog's yelp after someone steps on its tail, you simply nod in agreement.

Love Breakups Zindagi Review By  -
Gaurav Malani - Times of India : Ratings 2/5
Zayed Khan and Dia Mirza share good chemistry and are decent in their acts. Dia has a natural charm. Cyrus Sahukar underplays his character and is the butt of most jokes. Tisca Chopra looks delightful despite playing a (slightly) elderly female. Umang Jain is cute but has a short-lived character. Vaibhav Talwar plays in a limited range but pulls off his part. Satyadeep Mishra is good. Pallavi Sharda and Auritra Ghosh get no scope. From all the special appearances, Boman Irani is hilarious and leaves more impact that Shah Rukh Khan who doesn't do much beyond playing himself and endorsing furniture brand.
Director Sahil Singha doesn't show any innovation in the storytelling of his debut venture but he still has the command to bring a smile on your face, thanks to the breezy romance and the film's optimistic outlook. While being conventional cinema, it isn't essentially exasperatingly cliched.
Neither utterly lovely nor breakthrough! Love Breakups Zindagi is that variety of predictable cinema that is passable.

the film is pretty average with a predictable story line. The comic factor is also not enough to give the story a new level. The supporting stories also are not clearly stated or developed that could have given it a boost.
Final Word: Can watch if you have no other option.
Love Breakups Zindagi Review By - Bollywood Life
Love Breakups Zindagi is a lighthearted take on modern-day urban relationships in India, but it is lifeless due to weak characters and an unimaginative script. First time director Sahil Sangha makes an honest attempt to make the film, but next time he should leave the writing to someone else. Love Breakups Zindagi is like a beautiful hand-blown bottle studded with Swarovskis, but filled with a watery wine.

Daily Bhaskar - Ratings 2/5
Born Free Entertainment’s first ever production, Love Breakups Zindagi is a sheer example of one of those films, which bursts out of the candy floss mould, with no endeavors of adding substance. What adds on to one’s misery is the fact that besides its run of the mill storyline, is the extremely stretched screenplay. The jazzy wedding sequences and absolutely dull conversations between the characters gives the flick its first blow. The predictable bits post the interval, further irritate with some completely illogical portions like one can’t move the car for hours together, as a dog is sitting in the middle of the road and he can’t be disturbed.  The climax is over dramatic and flashes the memories of uncountable romantic films seen in the past.

Love. Dates. Marriage. Commitments. Relationships. Do we ever ponder on what we leave behind, as we move ahead in life? Not many of us introspect. But LOVE BREAKUPS ZINDAGI, a slice of life film, makes you recall certain episodes of your life. Though the film isn't biographical, one does relate to certain episodes in the narrative for two reasons -- they seem straight out of life and of course, first-time writer-director Sahil Sangha makes an effort to tell it with utmost honesty and simplicity. But, unfortunately, he succeeds to a degree! On the whole, LOVE BREAKUPS ZINDAGI has moments that leave an impression, but they are few and far between. Besides, a weak second hour, excessive length and sluggish pacing makes it a tedious experience!

Rediff - Ratings 2/5
Surprisingly Love Breakups Zindagi after a dull beginning picks up pace after the interval. Zayed Khan who has recently been seen mainly in thrillers, returns in his Main Hoon Na [ Images ] avatar and has retained his boy-next-door charm. Romancing Diya Mirza [ Images ] these two share good chemistry and their interactions succeed in keeping the viewer engrossed.
The other saving grace to the film is the music. While Rab Rakha has become a hit all the other numbers are hummable.
If you like cute, cheesy, breezy love stories then Love Breakups Zindagi is for you.

Born Free Entertainment's LBZ is about modern relationships. Jay is in a relationship with Radhika (Pallavi Sharda) but feels trapped. Naina is in a relationship with Dhruv a perfect husband material guy who actually doesn't turn out to be as perfect as she thought. Govind (Cyrus Sahukar) has been divorced twice and still looking for the perfect match.Nonetheless, Love Breakups Zindagi can be a onetime watch if you have nothing else to do and need some retrospection on your relationship.

Super Good Movies - Ratings 3.5/5
Soundtrack is different, not like the regular run-of-the-mill kind of a film. It has content and is entertaining. It comes off as a fresh attempt though is inspired from another motion picture. Also it is based on the life of a famous musician Beethoven. And another plus point is that it is a musical extravaganza that has some mind boggling tracks.

Daily Bhaskar - Ratings 3.5/5
A film by a debutant filmmaker isn’t just rich in content but in execution too. The opening shot where Ronak is introduced and his passion for music is revealed, says a lot about how brilliantly story is going to unfold further. His slow indulgence in the world of drugs, again, comes out finely, considering his strong inclination towards alcohol. The crisp screenplay doesn’t let your eyeballs move off the screen even for a second. The transition from the party to tragic mood and then, to some soothing light moments, with no loopholes, makes Soundtrack, one of the flawless films ever made.

Glamsham - Ratings 3/5
It is the second part that balances out the tumultuous first. Both Soha and Rajeev share a chemistry that endears you to them. Modulating her voice and aiding it with her finger movements and facial expressions, Soha is first rate. I mean this is not a movie any heroine would do. It's only the bold who will experiment with such technically difficult roles.
It's hard-hitting and creatively presented. But what could have worked in Neerav's favour is if the rest of the cast were within the confines of the parameters he had in mind for the film.
It would be tough to get in the audience (read commercial success), but those creatively inclined should definitely watch this flick.

Now Running - Ratings 2/5
Rajeev Khandelwal is decent in parts but comes across as a misfit in this story in more cases than one. Even his dialogue delivery seems faulty. Soha Ali Khan is delightfully pleasing while Mohan Kapoor does a good job as Charlie.
Music by various artistes is very good with some of the remixes like Yeh Jeevan Hai, Ruk Jaana Nahi standing out. Editing of the film could've been better.
Over all, Soundtrack is decent in parts and could've made for a very upheaving watch had it been for better execution.

NDTV - Ratings 3.5/5
Soundtrack is a soul-stirring tale of a musician's voyage into deafening hedonism and a quiet redemption.
The director suffuses the soundtrack with snatches of a music that transports a fairly routine inspirational story to the sphere of a modern moral fable.
As for Khandelwal, his performance is so accomplished that he proves, not for the first time, that he's among the most engaging actors today. For the money, time and attention, he is the true rock star.

Taran Adarsh Bollywood Hungama - Ratings 3/5
Rajeev is known for giving his best at whatever he does. Playing an emotionally unstable character is always taxing and an edgy journey for any actor, but Rajeev emerges triumphant with a bravura performance. Ditto for Soha, who delivers a sparkling performance. Soha is capable of delivering a powerful performance if given an opportunity and this film proves it. Though Mrinalini Sharma doesn't really get scope, yet, the pretty lass gives it all to her character and registers an impact. Another winning performance comes from Mohan Kapur, who is superb in a rather tough role. This film should make people sit and notice this talented actor. Yateen Karyekar does very well as well. Ankur Tewari and Sidd Coutto, the musicians, are wonderful in their respective roles.
On the whole, SOUNDTRACK captivates you with a story that talks of the triumph of the human spirit. An inspiring film, a human story, a relatable and credible journey with an atypical, feel-good conclusion, SOUNDTRACK is not to be missed.

Rediff - Ratings 3/5
By and large, Soundtrack remains doggedly faithful to its source material and in such a scenario it becomes difficult to credit director Neerav Ghosh for everything. When directors usually remake a film that may have left a deep impression on them they bring in their personal touch and that's what distinguishes the remake from the original. Which brings us to a simple question: Had Soundtrack been as good if it wasn't adapted from It's All Gone Pete Tong? Another major setback for Soundtrack is that Raunak appears to be a minor speck in his contribution to music and that weakens the effect of a story which grandly projects him as a hero with handicap. Its impact would have been much stronger had the inspiration been Beethoven himself or other iconic figure in the musical history.
If you overlook that fact, on its own, Soundtrack is a watchable film, with able support from its cast and if Ghosh is to be credited for anything, let it be said that he has an eye for his material and knows where to look.

Times Of India - Ratings 3.5/5
The film is inspired by the English film It's All Gone Pete Tong which traced the intense highs and lows in the life of musician Frankie Wilde, a legend in the Ibiza club scene, as he battled his hearing disorder. But kudos to both filmmaker Neerav Ghosh and actor Rajeev Khandelwal for creating a completely authentic Indian idiom in Soundtrack which holds up a glitzy, yet dark mirror to the Mumbai rock scene.Well acted, well narrated and with loads of great music (Midival Punditz), Soundtrack is cinema with a soul.

What’s Bad: The post-interval portion which is devoid of emotions.
Verdict: Soundtrack is a good film but the second half ought to have been far better. It will not do much at the ticket windows.
