Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:
Taran Adarsh - Bollywood Hungama - Ratings 3/5
Follow three simple rules while attempting a rom-com...
One, the romance should be livewire. Ditto for the chemistry between the on-screen pair.
Two, the movie ought to make the viewer chuckle.
Three, it shouldn't fall prey to predictability.
If you get the above-mentioned characteristics right, chances are you may be smiling from ear to ear on the decisive Friday. Okay, does TERE NAAL LOVE HO GAYA, directed by Mandeep Kumar, live up to the set standards? Oh yes, you do exit the auditorium with a smile on your face.
On the whole, TERE NAAL LOVE HO GAYA is refreshing and succeeds in its endeavor of amusing and entertaining, more particularly in its second hour. In addition, the sparkling performances by Riteish and Genelia is the mainstay of the film.

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, starring the newly wed couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'souza is sure to bring smile on your face. Whether it is comedy, on-screen chemistry between the lead actors or the screenplay – Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya doesn't disappoint you at all.
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, directed by Mandeep Kumar is one of those 'feel good movies' that you would love to watch on a lazy weekend! The film is not too predictable either, which often is the case with romantic films.
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:
Gaurav Malani - Times Of India  - Ratings:Good
The film primarily works thanks to the convincing chemistry and performances by the lead pair. Riteish Deshmukh is resourcefully restrained, perfectly poised and, needless to say, his comic timing is impeccable. At the same time he allows Genelia to take lead as the film largely revolves around her character. And Genelia does complete justice to her meaty role with a refreshing and dynamic act. Her cute looks and electrifying smile add to her appeal. From the character cast, Om Puri gets the best lines and induces frequent laughter. Chitrashi Rawat and Navin Prabhakar are wasted. Veena Malik's item number was avoidable.
With the feel-good factor working to its advantage, you might just end up saying Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya to this sweet-n-simple film.
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:
Martin D'Souza - Glamsham - Ratings 2.5/5

TNLHG could have been a good Valentine's Day release. Also, coming soon after the Riteish Geneila marriage, it would have added as a curiosity factor. All the same, this is a fun film worth a watch.
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:
Khalid Mohamed - Deccan Chronicle - Ratings 2.5/5

Of the two, Riteish Deshmukh appears to be stuck in a time warp; he hasn’t evolved as an artiste, making the same woebegone faces. Quite clearly Genelia D’Douza has a sparkling screen presence but has gone way over the top this time, much too loud as if she were addressing a political rally.
To see or not to see, then? Flip a coin. Heads you go, tails you don’t.
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:
SAGAR  - News Beats - Ratings 3/5

Well, Rahul Sharma who is new for direction has managed to carve out ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’ in a better way and the highly publicized wedding of Ritesih Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza worked in the film too with their charismatic chemistry. Just for fun and comedy-sake, the audience will surely enjoy the movie this season.
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:
Komal Nahta -Koimoi/ETC - Ratings 2.5/5

What’s Good: Several comedy scenes; the hit music; the family drama; the emotional drama.
What’s Bad: Some clichéd comedy scenes; lack of justification for the love angle.
Verdict: The entertaining second half and the hit music save Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya and make it a plus fare for Tips and UTV. However, a few of the distributors who have acquired territorial distribution rights at fancy prices will not be able to make money.
Loo break: A couple in the first half.
Watch or Not?: Watch it for getting entertained.
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:
Kanchana Devi - Truth Drive - Ratings 3.5/5
Together, Riteish and Genelia elevate the film a few notches above the ordinary.
As a whole, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is an entertaining film and will surely be liked by families.

Watch it for a light-hearted comedy. Watch it for Mr and Mrs Deshmukh. Let’s hope that they don’t wait for another seven years to do another film together.

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya has too much saccharine, otherwise it retains a frothy, smooth texture says Preeti Arora.
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:
Mansha Rastogi - Now Running - Ratings 3/5
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is a refreshing rom-com. Riteish and Genelia's acting remain the mainstay. Deserves a definite watch.
Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya Review By:
Shakti Salgaokar - DNA  - Ratings 3/5
It always helps when you walk in to a movie theatre to watch a morning show with almost no expectations. With barely anytime to sip my morning cuppa, I settled into the desi romantic-comedy that will see Riteish and Genelia for the first time after their recent wedding.
And boy, does the film surprise you!
Mini (Genelia) is a Punjabi kudi with a Canadian passport and hence a Green card holder (I dont know how Canadians get a green card but okay). This in addition to being the daughter of a rich man Bhatti (Anand) who employs a rickshaw driver Viren (Deshmukh), a poor buy who harbours a rich dream of owning Innova taxis one day.

Don't over analyse, don't think too much, just go watch and have fun.

Jodi Breakers Movie Review

AVERAGE RATINGS OF 14 REVIEWS - 2.2/5
Star Cast R Madhavan, Bipasha Basu, Omi Vaidya, Dipannita Sharma, Milind Soman, Helen
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Taran Adarsh - Bollywood Hungama - Ratings 3/5
JODI BREAKERS has an engrossing and smartly executed second half that tilts scales in its favor. The right dose of drama and romance, besides a trendy, harmonious musical score, only act as toppings.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Piyali Dasgupta - NDTV - Ratings 1.5/5
A "twist" in the "plot" is timed just before the interval, when you are seriously wondering if leaving midway in an empty theatre is an option. No worries of stepping on any toes, there’s hardly a handful for the show. But professional commitments are sacrosanct so I am still in the theatre, dreading the second half.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Dailybhaskar.com  - Ratings 3/5
3 Ups and 3 Downs: Mind-boggling performances, strong storyline and dialogues leave Jodi Breakers in the category of one-time watch films. Editing, cinematography and poor portrayal of second half in terms of direction and screenplay proves fatal for the film.
On the whole, Jodi Breakers falls flat in its intention to showcase a well-knitted plot. Watch out this one only for Maddy and Bips.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
OneIndia.in - Ratings 3/5
Director Ashwini Chaudhary's latest film Jodi Breakers is an unusual romantic comedy of unusual pair R Madhavan and Bipasha Basu. The movie has all essential masala elements for the film goers. The movie is different from other Hindi films. Majority of Bollywood movies are about people falling in love, but this one is about a pair that separates people.
Overall, Jodi Breakers is good entertainer and you can watch it at least for superb acting of M Madhavan and Bipasha Basu.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Komal Nahta -Koimoi/ETC - Ratings 1/5
What’s Good: A few comedy scenes; the music.
What’s Bad: The defective screenplay; the uninspiring and meaningless second half.
Verdict: Jodi Breakers is a dull show. It will not be able to break even.
Loo break: Several.
Watch or Not?: Watch it for the performances and the music, but do not expect much else.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Kaveree Bamzai - India Today - Ratings 2/5
Which is a pity. Bipasha has never looked so radiant and her acting has never been as spontaneous. The break-up seems to suit her. Madhavan is one of our most talented actors. Omi Vaidya really has to find a new gag for himself. Avoid. Watch the Oscar nominees instead. I recommend The Artist. Uggie, the dog, will break your heart. In the best possible way.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Sify - Ratings 2.5/5
Director Ashwini Chaudhary’s (Dhoop, Good Boy Bad Boy) storytelling is assured and unselfconscious. The story is told with the zest it deserves and is enhanced by the sparkling dialogue. Sadly, the director has a messed-up second half on his hands. Still, worth your while for the unusual story, interesting coupling, and the irreverent humour.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Kunal Guha - Yahoo - Ratings 2.5/5
The story may not be entirely original yet the dialogues are refreshingly clever and crisp, keeping the pace of the film intact. The golden line being, “The best part of kissing is the unsure and unsettling feeling experienced just a moment before a kiss when you don’t know exactly how it’s going to turn out.” Greece is a country that doesn’t need a professional photographer to extract the plentiful shades of blue that the sea offers. But having one here only made it better. The music by Salim-Sulaiman is strictly average and even the high-pumping party numbers don’t induce any tapping of foot.
As Madhavan and Bips team up to snoop around, they remind you of Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo. But when they get intimate, your fond association with the adorable bhalus is scarred forever.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Shilpa Jamkhandikar - Reuters
‘Tis the season for romance — at least in Bollywood. After “Ek Main aur Ekk Tu“ and “Ekk Deewana Tha“ this month, comes Ashwini Chaudhary’s “Jodi Breakers“, another film that attempts to bring together romance and comedy and hopes to leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling in your tummy. And fails spectacularly, I might add.

Barring a couple of laughs, this film isn’t worth it. Go for it only if you must.

Jodi Breakers Review By:
Savera R Someshwar - Rediff - Ratings 1/5

Savera R Someshwar feels Jodi Breakers could have been a good romance or a good comedy but it's neither. The film is seriously flawed.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Mansha Rastogi - Now Running - Ratings 2/5

Jodi Breakers fails to make up for a good rom-com. Watch the film only if you are a fan of Maddy and Bips.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Kanika Sikka - DNA  - Ratings 2/5
The characters carry an otherwise monotonous plot to make the movie not only tolerable, but seldom enjoyable. The second half is sorely predictable, yet the actors keep it going. Leave all expectations behind before entering the hall and you ‘might’ (urgency redefined) walk out with a smiling face.
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Zee News - Ratings 3/5
Madhavan and Bipasha, though an unusual jodi, pull off their roles amazingly, thereby raising ‘Jodi Breakers’ to the level of a splendid movie despite a weak denouement. Go delve in dysfunctional relationships this weekend!
Jodi Breakers Review By:
Avijit Ghosh - Times Of India - Ratings:2.5/5
Jodi Breakers isn't entirely without merit though. Madhavan is earnest. And Bipasha looks stunning, especially in the scenes shot in Greece. The romantic scenes between the two have a coy intensity. Together they try to make the film better than it actually is. And the track named Bipasha has spunk and rhythm though Kunwara is likely to be the chartbuster. But it simply isn't enough.

Ek Deewana Tha Movie Review

Written By Manish Garg on Friday 17 February 2012 | 17:26

AVERAGE RATINGS OF 12 REVIEWS - 1.3/5

Ek Deewana Tha Review By:
Taran Adarsh - Bollywood Hungama - Ratings 2/5

Both, the Tamil version [VINNAITHAANDI VARUVAAYAA] and also its Telugu adaptation [YE MAAYA CHESAVE] were considered path-breaking motion pictures. Though essentially a remake, EKK DEEWANA THA conjures memories of K. Balachander's roaring hit EK DUUJE KE LIYE. Menon is a master storyteller, no two opinions on that, but EKK DEEWANA THA fails to leave an impact for a valid reason: A beaten to death plot tends to stagnate after a point. Also, Menon overstays the hospitality by dragging the film in its second hour. Just when you think the story would conclude, Menon does a time travel and starts a new chapter in this never-ending love story. That, honestly, only makes this snail-paced movie a taxing and cumbersome experience.

On the whole, EKK DEEWANA THA has a few sparkling moments, that's about it. However, it lacks the fizz for the spectator to go deewana!

Ek Deewana Tha Review By:

3 Ups and 3 DownsFresh pair with a partially good on-screen chemistry trying to be a part of a lovey-dovey love story could be one reason to give it a try. A dragged storyline which is not worth the climax disappoints. Girls, who can endure anything for a feel good factor to see a guy madly in love with a girl, can too grab a ticket. Overall, Ek Deewana Tha entertains sporadically.
Ek Deewana Tha Review By:
OneIndia.in - Ratings 2/5

AR Rahman's musical score is the major attraction in the technical front and the his composition 'Hosanna' is pick of everyone. MS Prabhu has contributed some stunning visuals and he has wonderfully captured the scenic beauty of Kerala. Manu Rishi's dialogues are commendable. However, editor Anthony Gonsalves could have cut short the length of the movie.
In a nutshell, Ek Deewana Tha is good romantic thriller and this can be good for this Valentine's season.
Ek Deewana Tha Review By:
Komal Nahta -Koimoi/ETC - Ratings 1/5

What’s Good: A few light scenes; the Hosanna song.
What’s Bad: The routine story; the weak screenplay; lack of feeling of empathy for the two lead characters.
Verdict: Ekk Deewana Tha will go largely unnoticed by the audience.
Loo break: Several in the post-interval portion.
Watch or Not?: Watch it for the Hosanna song.

Like for instance, Prateik is wasted in this film. He is a talented actor and making him do the same things he did, just a release ago in MY FRIEND PINTO is not really exploiting his talent. It also means that there was no meat in the script.

Through his struggle and strive to win his lady love, Sachin keeps ranting one line, “Duniya mein itni ladkiyan hain par mujhe Jessie se hi pyaar kyun hua?” Perhaps, because Jessie Jaisi Koi Nahin? But the question you will find yourself pondering over through the film will be, “Multiplex mein itni movies hain, phir maine iss movie ka ticket hi kyun liya?”

Song starts, music video plays, hero broods, heroine pouts, both dance. And then we go back to the baffling questions again: Will the couple get together? Won't they? He stalks; she disappears, then reappears, she likes him, but maybe not, gets married, or perhaps doesn’t…. Oh, just get a room, and get it over with.
Ek Deewana Tha Review By:
Preeti Arora - Rediff - Ratings 1/5

While there are directors who dig relentlessly for a new theme around which a rom-com can be built, there are others such as Gautham Menon who believe old cliches are the best plot points for a love story. For starters, the girl is a year older to the boy. Then they come from different religions. The boy is a passionate movie buff, hopes to make a career in films. The girl's family doesn't even watch films. The girl's brother is a toughie who needs an excuse to start a fight. But there is something called love at first sight. You get the drift.
Ek Deewana Tha is the Hindi remake of Gautham Menon's Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya which was a huge commercial hit. Somewhere, something obviously got lost in translation.

Prateik spends a lot of time in the movie dancing around Amy, kissing her on her firmly closed mouth, and wearing linen suits he could ill afford on his assistant director's salary. We lose patience with him even though he tries desperately hard to infuse some energy into the proceedings. We are supposed to feel the longing he has for Amy. We only feel the irritation. Get on with it guys you want to say. Come to the point. By the time they do you are exhausted, and want to do what Prateik says Amy's character did to his feelings-showed him the middle finger. So there.

Ek Deewana Tha Review By:
Zee News - Ratings 2/5
All in all, ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’ is a movie that seems to have been lost in translation. However, Prateik deserves praise for his efforts. Also, the cinematography scores well, and some marvellously shot scenes in Kerala are a visual treat. Manu Rishi, who plays the role of Prateik’s older buddy, is charming. The few laughs that the actor delivers are truly enjoyable.

The translation of Deewana can have different connotations from crazy to mad. Ekk Deewana Tha starts as a cool and crazy love story but by the end it could make you mad.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review By:
Taran Adarsh - Bollywood Hungama - Ratings 4/5

On the whole, EK MAIN AUR EKK TU is a slick, breezy and pleasant fare that should click with its target audience -- the youth -- and also has the potential to woo the older spectators as well. This take on love is refined, smart, lively and thoroughly pleasing thanks to its characters, conversations and the inherent humor. A perfect date movie. A film stuffed with exquisite moments that are sure to bring a wide smile on your face. Simply put, you cannot afford to miss EK MAIN AUR EKK TU. Just go for it!

Piyali Dasgupta - NDTV - Ratings 4/5

I'll play on the film's USP for this review and keep it short and crisp. No extra lines. But, just like you need to read this, you need to go and watch the film.
Shakun Batra's Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a coming-of-age film. Not for Kareena and Imran's characters, though, but for the industry and the audience. It's okay to say b-u-m without the beep. And talk sex among friends, without a beep. Admit it.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review By:
Dailybhaskar.com  - Ratings 3/5
3 Ups and 3 DownsStunning performances, editing, cinematography and extremely unique climax makes it a special film. Monotonous approach towards story-writing and screenplay along with music are the drawbacks.
Overall, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a typical popcorn entertainer with super-amazing climax, which puts it in a different league altogether.

What’s Good: The performances; the entertaining second half; the songs.
What’s Bad: The lack of universality of the script which will find less appreciation among the masses.
Verdict: Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is an entertaining and enjoyable fare for the city audience.
Loo break: None really.
Watch or Not?: Watch it for the performances and the clever handling of a different story.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review By:

Music by Amit Trivedi and lyrics by the bard of the hour, Amitabh Bhattacharyya, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a gentle little film, where even the regulation song with Americans dancing to Bollywood music in the middle of Vegas don't look so bad. Thank you, Imran, you're all grown up. And thank you Kareena for playing Rihanna with a lightbulb inside your head. Her skin is fresh, her eyes glow, her hair tumbles, and she is a good shoulder for Imran to cry on.

EMAET had the potential of being an even better film. The three stars are for the excellent treatment and Imran's performance.

The lead pair in this film may have negligible chemistry but you would suffer even worse if you use this review to convince your girlfriend for an alternate V-Day plan. So go, fall in love or sleep or munch loudly to drain out the dialogues. Just remember, when you’re walking out of the movie with your hands chained to your partner, it will be worth it. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review By:
Shubha Shetty Saha - Mid Day - Ratings 3.5/5

Apart from a sensitive script and solid direction, what also works for this film is the casting. Refreshingly, the film has not fallen over itself to get known stars to play character roles, just to make the film shinier. Instead, it has some unknown gems that not only fit their individual characters perfectly but together make it all a delightful experience.
A special mention has to be made of Ratna Pathak. In what seems like an extension of her role in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Pathak is fantastic.
The climax is brave, unpredictable and real. Go watch! Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a small packet of joy.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review By:
Sukanya Verma- Rediff - Ratings 3/5

Sukanya Verma feels that Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is neither on the epic side like Dharma Productions' great, grand ancestors nor weighed down by an overload of pop culture references of those that define the genre.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review By:
Gautam Shah - Now Running - Ratings 2.5/5

Shakun Batra does have a fine storyteller in him. He is not the typical Bollywood rom-com director but far more subtle, which is his forte. If only he had worked more on the screenplay his debut film as a director would have been so much better. Overall, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a fun one-time watch this Valentines season if you are looking to hit the theaters with your loved ones. Else, there are always the evergreen love stories that you can catch up in the warm of your own couch!
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review By:

All in all, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a delightful film that keeps getting better along the way, and ends fabulously. Clocking under two hours, the film is a breezy watch that will leave you with a smile. Highly recommended.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review By:
Zee News - Ratings 3/5
One doesn’t expect much from a first time director venturing into big bad world of Bollywood with a typical romantic comedy. The plot appears to be lifted from a Hollywood flick, it targets the youth and it releases close to Valentine’s Day. How different can the rom-com be, one wonders. But director Shakun Batra springs a surprise with this movie.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review By:
Gaurav Malani - Times Of India - Ratings:Above Average

In a smart conversational excerpt from the film, the hero downplays himself as an ordinary guy who doesn't excel in any particular domain. But the heroine finds uniqueness in his commonplace conduct since he never overindulges into anything. She tags him with the paradox - 'perfectly average'. That precisely defines the film as well. It's perfect in whatever it offers. But what it offers is quite average in volume.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is the kind of film you don't mind watching. But then again, you don't miss anything imaginative if you skip this.
