David Dhawan gets wild, wacky... and naughty! He's back to the 'spicy' films he churned out with amazing regularity [and with great success] in the 1990s. RASCALS sees the original badshaah of non-stop laughathons revisit the genre, after a hiatus. Let me describe RASCALS in few words: funny, outrageous, hilarious, uproarious and most importantly, entertaining. In fact, the title as well as the promos of the film had prepared us well in advance about what to expect from this film.At the same time, RASCALS is definitely *not* for those who tilt towards realistic/pragmatic cinema or for enthusiasts of meaningful/significant cinema or those who disregard masala films. No, nope, naah... this one's austerely not for them!On the whole, RASCALS is a madcap, over the top, zany entertainer aimed at the masses. It's hilarious and outrageous from commencement to conclusion. If this kind of humor appeals to you, then there are chances that you will relish this one!

Bollywood World - Ratings 2/5
At some point in this pointless parody of all of David Dhawan’s Tom and Jerry comedies from the past, Devgn and Dutt, playing a pair of warring, snaping, snarling, sneering con-persons, call for each other. ‘Chetan? Bhagat? Chetan? Bhagat? ….” In that pause between the last blast and the next you know the script writer (Yunuz Sajawal) is thinking of how to carry the plot to the next gag.
Wish they had actually roped in author Chetan Bhagat to write some of the episodes. We would at least be looking at more than just an endless raunchy wordy ramble into the realm of toned bikini bodies. And these include the two leading ladies Kangna Ranaut and the striking Lisa Haydon.A makeover for David Dhawan’s brand of comedy. Seriously, this comedy is not funny.

Komal Nahta - Koimoi - Ratings 1.5/5
What’s Good: A few comic scenes; the ‘Shake it saiyyan’ song.
What’s Bad: Lack of a cohesive story; hotch-potch screenplay; irritating dialogues.
Verdict: Rascals is a poor comedy which will fail to make its mark.
Loo break: Not really.
Watch or Not?: Watch Rascals if you can laugh at just about anything.

This one defies a film. You just lose interest after a while. As do the filmmakers. At some point, out of the blue, they just abandon the whole project, start replaying scenes from the picture, everybody begins dancing together, friends and foes, Anthony Gonsalves, Bhagguji, Chetooji. You wonder what’s going on again. Credits start rolling. Nonsense ends. Poof. Thank you.

Super Good Movies - Ratings 1/5
The movie is plain irritating and has nothing much than Sanjay and Ajay trying to kiss and touch Kangna. The dialogues are clichéd and do not manage to create even a single giggle. It’s a senseless comedy and is totally a waste of time, money and effort. ‘Rascals’ does not impress a bit.

It’s stale, tasteless and devoid of any originality.

NDTV - Ratings 1.5/5
The gags in Rascals are so stale and tasteless and the situational comedy so devoid of any kind of originality or freshness, you wonder if David Dhawan just made this unfunny comedy to please his friends who play the major roles in the film.
A makeover for David Dhawan's brand of comedy. Seriously, this comedy is not funny.

Daily Bhaskar - Ratings 3/5
Unlike any other slapstick comedy, Rascals stands out because of its sense of humour, which is direct with no double meaning dialogues. The characters show no reluctance and are at comfort sharing cheesy talks. The attempt of the two rascals over powering each other time and again in the film gets boring after a point of time. The comic-timing between Sanjay and Ajay is refreshing and brilliant and tickles the funny bone most of the times.

Pay your ticket fare, buy your popcorn and take your seat. RASCALS does not promise to involve you in the scheme of things. However, it does promise entertainment. f you go looking for logic you won't find any. But you will find loopholes aplenty. If you just want to have a good time, RASCALS gives you that. And a few good laughs as well. The music by Vishal and Shekhar is peppy, while the dialogues are full on wit, and less on logic. What hits you hard on the positive side is the fact that even when there is no plan or plot, Dutt and Devgn don't feel the heat. They go about their business of making you laugh with glee.
RASCALS is what the film promises... buy your ticket, take your popcorn, and get set for a situational comedy.

Over all, Rascals will work only with those who love to wishfully forget their brains at home while going for a film. For those seeking substance in cinema, Rascals will make you look like a rascal for having made the choice

Nikhat Kazmi - Times Of India - Ratings 2.5/5
David Dhawan returns to the screen after a prolonged hiatus. And sadly, he returns with a film that ain't too fresh and reminds you of his earlier venture, Deewana Mastana, with Govinda and Anil Kapoor trying to outwit each other in order to curry favour with Juhi Chawla. What's more unnerving is the fact that Rascals isn't as funny as the earlier one, where Govinda created a laugh riot with his 'baby steps' and psychiatrist Juhi was worth all the squabbling and sneaking.

Raja Sen - Rediff - Ratings 1.5/5
Last but not the least; let me draw your attention to the most offensive aspect of Rascals. Its women. Both Kangna and Lisa Haydon are reduced to pea-brained ob-jects of lust with absolutely no self-respect for themselves or their tribe. And so when Dutt equates Kangna's shrill cries to a dog's yelp after someone steps on its tail, you simply nod in agreement.
